That was my thinking this morning as I grinded thru my workout.
3:30am wake ups.
7x/wk HARD TRAINING.
Hitting macros daily.
Working 12-14 hour days.
Helping keep the house clean and with the baby.
And then it hit me.
I WAS MAKING IT ALL ABOUT ME, ME, ME.
Everything I've been preaching, I slipped up.
I was able to catch myself halfway thru my workout and turn it around.
Burn out is the result of 2 things:
Focus on self
Negotiating with ourselves
It's not the amount of work, stress, obligations, compounded over time that causes "burn out" (which by the way is a mental choice to accept this feeling).
It's the amount of negotiating we do throughout the day.
"Should I eat healthy or have this delicious pastry?"
"I'm so tired, I'm not sure if I should workout today."
"I think I could get this work assignment done tomorrow."
Going thru things we could've or should've done, things that we should do in the future, never being present...constantly talking to ourselves.
It's freaking tiring.
What's the solution?
TAKE ACTION.
DO THINGS YOU DON'T WANT TO DO WITHOUT NEGOTIATING.
FOCUS ON THE IMPACT YOU'RE MAKING ON OTHERS BY FOCUSING ON DOING WHAT YOU DON'T WANT TO DO...BUT DOING IT ANYWAYS FOR OTHERS.
TO INSPIRE.
TO ENROLL THEM IN THEIR VISION.
TO SERVE.
Stop reading, and go take some FREAKING ACTION.
